Got a great suit for a great deal. I needed a suit fast and on the cheap, tried all the usual places but no luck. Tried to get my tailor to fix my suit, not enough time. In a last ditch went to Macy's, found a better-than-rack quality suit for cheap. The guy at the counter was super helpful, not at all pushy, and knew a lot about proper fit... It was impressive. There's a reason this place is a landmark.
Macy's is a great store to get items for the entire family. The children section always has beautiful items and good sales. They carry very nice dresses for special occasions for girls. Also the womans section is always good. There are usually a lot of sales on bras and undergarments in general. Also they always have coupons and you can use your rite aid to redeem points!
A great Macy's store that brought to us, Floridian tourists, the real Christmas atmosphere. The store is located inside the historic Wanamaker building in the middle of Philly, but we could park our car in the street in front of the building without any charge. The architecture is vintage, and the decor here is beautiful and lovely. We coincidentally came here to only get some outerwear for the Northeast trip to New York and Massachusetts. Yet we have never known before that it has an annual Christmas light show, Holiday Pageant of Lights Christmas Show and The Dickens Village, that thoroughly impresses and surprises us. More importantly, they are all free access to everyone. Overall, free parking (if you are lucky enough), free amazing live piano, free light show experience, and so many things else to discover; it is simply 5 stars. It should also be noted as a tourist attraction along with just a department store. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
As a tourist destination, it is freaking amazing and a Philly must-see. The Wanamaker Organ (largest fully operational pipe organ in the world) is played live every few hours. They even give tours so you can see it up close. The music is beautiful. The entire building is a work of art. They also have a huge bronze eagle in the center of the store that has been there for over 100 years. We recently went to their Christmas light show, which is free, and also really cool and ends with a live organ performance.
This Macy's is not only a Macy's, but also a tourist destination.
Went to Macy's for the Christmas light show and to hear the Wanamaker Organ at Noon. Both were worth the visit. The store was clean and the employees were extremely friendly. The store decor defiantly showed the Christmas spirit. Upon leaving th store, we spoke to a very friendly employee in a red Macy's jacket for advise on where to get a taxi cab He was very helpful. I had doubts about going to Macy's in Philadelphia but they proved me wrong.
Macy's is more expensive than a lot of stores, of course, but their clearance section was pretty big, well maintained, and I found some great stuff for great prices.
As a store, it's one of the few Macy's that actually feels like the Macy's stores from the movies. The merchandising is really good and the store seemed well staffed, at least for the holidays.
