The schools public safety is more concerned with breaking up parties and punishing students than making sure that the students are safe. IN addition the surrounding area is strewn with families making it an unwelcoming area for a University. The cross campus transportation is poor. The workout facilities are small and overcrowded. Student are often left with nothing to do and many resort to drinking in their rooms or going home for the weekend. much of sophomore housing is off campus. The athletic teams, most notably the basketball team, are overrated.

They are Lier before you do the application and before you buy the fee 50 dollars they just try to be nice with you they say we need GPA 2.5 and 15 credit for transfer and it's gonna take 2 weeks after you do the application. It's gonna take forever until the sumthey say oh we are sorry we need 3.0 GPA so they just need to still 50 dollars poor life

Public safety aka rent a cop needs to be trained more I was told buy a former public safety that there doing there job and paisley accusing new visitors as a suspect. I feel sorry I was going to give it five stars but public safety ruined mine and a few people reputation. Lucky I wasn't going to sue for cause accusation...

I attended Saint Joseph's University to complete undergraduate Theology make up courses; as my BA Degree has been in Political Science when I'd decided to get my Master's in Theology. I am writing this review to try and help anyone who is considering attending this school who is Catholic - DO NOT. I say this sadly because of what I went through in the mandatory (no matter what your major is) Theology Courses. If you are an actual BELIEVING Catholic, you will be unable to learn what The Church teaches and has always taught; what Christ handed down to the Apostles and to their spiritual descendants. You will not learn this in their Theology classes. You will learn that they (the Theological instructors, professors, and dept. hierarchy) do not believe in what The Bible says and they will attempt to place seeds of doubt in you by; for one example, having the class read a long passage with the directive from an instructor to "...look for anything that strikes you as 'different' or jumps out at you..." It comes out after this exercise is over that they want you to find things that SEEM inconsistent to you on first blush. Instead of explaining why it is not; they will shrug their shoulders and say, "Oh well, this is difficult to come to grips with..." and leave you thinking that it is; when upon further examination I for one; found out the explanation and IT WAS NOT AN INCONSISTENCY. I began that course with a happy class and some of the young ladies were actually crying outside on campus by just a few classes in. I remember one girl saying, "So what are we to believe?" It was heart-breaking! I felt like I was in a nightmare. I actually asked a parish priest if there would be any manner in which I could just quit midstream with just a few months left but because of that, he advised me to "...Just get the grade" and move on. I complained to the authorities, and even the Archbishop of Philadelphia at the time; Cardinal Justin Rigali. I even tried to get an expose' on the former show, "The O'Reilly Factor" but there was no response from anyone there back then. At that time, there was no social media where I could help save people from the belly of the beast, so to speak, as this occurred 14 years ago. I have heard enough in the interim to believe that these problems have not changed. I am sorry but here is a chance to help others; circumventing those who would hide this; I hope. As I said, if you are not an actual believer in what the real teachings of Catholicism have always been, these facts might not bother you. I hope that current students have an opportunity to somehow find out if there are ANY real Catholic Professors and Instructors there. Parents and students, you have been forewarned - don't risk your/your child's Faith.

I went to this school for a five year program. They do nothing to help you financially and don't seem to care. Go to trade school instead. SJU has unfairly hiked up prices to make up for their construction and land acquisition costs. On the other hand their marketing teachers were great and I learned much from them.
