Fun, fun, and fun!

Parking is available at the park for a fee or if your able bodied you can find parking around the area for free and walk a few blocks. Pack a lunch, snacks, some water and a good attitude and you'll have a great time. s

This is the oldest zoo in the history of America.

1- enough water and drinks

5- a picnic mat so that you can relax and enjoy watching the view.

The Philadelphia Zoo is the oldest zoo in the country. It is both fun and interactive with plenty to do. There are times where you can meet the zoo keepers for several different animal exhibits. They also let monkeys and big cats out into a cage-like tunnel so they can roam outside their own exhibits and can be found throughout the park itself. A lot to see. Highly recommend it.

We went on a cold day off from school and were delighted to have individual time with both active-duty and off-duty docents. What a treat to get this experience. Love the trails for the tigers when they walk over the pedestrian path. So nice to see the environmental efforts of this zoo. The buildings are compliant and the plants are native. Love these efforts by this national landmark.

It is a lovely place to spend a whole day JUST remember to pack the following:

3- good camera to take memorable photos

AWESOME place! We LOVE the Philadelphia Zoo! We have gone here at least twice a year since we moved to the Philadelphia Zoo. My favorite is the Great Apes exhibit. I LOVE watching the orangutans and gorillas. I can sit there for hours! The zoo is very educational, has great exhibits, food stands if you or the kids get hungry, and well placed restrooms. If you drive here, they also have 2 parking lots with lots of parking available.

2- lunch and snack

4- If you have kids bring swim suits/towels so that they can play at the water fountains.

It is good to bring a cooler with you if you have one or a wagon to put all of your stuff and drag it. If you don't have one you could rent it for 10$.

Beauty of a zoo, great, friendly and informative staff. Very clean throughout, child friendly with interactive exhibits, a petting zoo, and playground just for them. A tethered hot air balloon ride that rises above the park (for an additional cost) greets you at the entrance. The history, buildings, lake, landscapes and exhibits provide plenty of opportunity for loveley pics and memories. You can see it all at your leisure in about 6 hours or less.

Also you MUST wear comfortable shoes as you will walk for LONG. During this time of the year, don't forget to apply enough sunblock with water resistant before you go especially for the kids.
