I love Indeblue! I've loved it since its original Collingwood location! The food is unbeatable. I've eaten Indian food across the U.S. and NEVER had anything close to the quality of Indeblue. Chef Rakesh is a genius.
I have been here for dinner before, and always enjoyed my food, the service, and the ambiance. Just recently, I discovered the fantastic bar menu - $6 cocktails (good, quality cocktails, not just well booze and a mixer), and a whole list of cheap bites. It will definitely be my new go to!
Once in a while you bump into a Indian restaurant where you can not only bring your mother-in-law but also your team head, COO or VP. This place is highly professional and deserves accolades for trying new stuffs. I was in Philly for a business trip and wanted to eat Indian. I ordered from happy hour menu. There Gobi manchurian is great. The stuffed pepper was also great. Samosa (i wish it was a little bigger) tasted great too.
Desserts were delicious too. All in all, a good place for celebrations. Not sure that I would visit for a “regular” meal (well, maybe lunch): although I wouldn’t consider this place pricey, we did run up a decent tab for just three of us (and no doggie bag).
It took a bit of time for our server to catch our attention because he was so busy. But, thereafter we received prompt and courteous service for the rest of the evening.
The Philadelphia location is just perfect. The dining room is tastefully decorated. The bar is beautiful and the cocktails are inventive. As I mentioned, the food is delicious and beautifully presented. Plenty of vegetarian/vegan options! The portions are good. The staff is knowledgeable, courteous, and friendly. Not to mention a wonderful Saturday and Sunday brunch! Sunday they even have live sitar music.
The food is Indian, but “modern Indian” would be a good way to describe it. Some traditional north Indian dishes are on the menu but they also have an eclectic mix of fusion Indian food. Everything was served in a stylish way…the food looked great and was delicious!
I ordered one of their cocktails and my wife ordered a single-malt whiskey on the rocks. My cocktail was delicious and had the right amount of tequila in it (no need for another drink). My wife’s pour was generous and it was exactly the way she ordered it.
To celebrate out birthdays (one day apart) my wife and I made a reservation here for dinner with our son. It was a Sunday evening. We arrived on time and were promptly seated. The restaurant is long and narrow and the owners have made optimal use of space. Expect to be a bit squished into your space. Even on a Sunday evening this place was packed with people. It was somewhat loud so we had to elevate our volume to have conversation.
I'll be back again and again and again!
They also asked us what level of spice we would like. Some of it was ordered medium (their usual) and one dish was ordered “hot”. The medium was a bit below what we would consider medium and the hot….wow, it was spicy! Just educate yourself about their spice levels to get the food made to your taste.
Great food and great staff, especially the bartender. Late night happy hour is a great deal with a good variety of tasty snacks and drinks. I haven't tried the dinner menu, but wouldn't hesitate to come back when I'm in the area again.
