If you do not do many haunted attractions this may be accept able, but those experience (or not easily scared) should look elsewhere.
The one good wing they had (without spoiling anything) was the vaccine wing. It is the only reason this review is not a one star.
They say that if you wear these optional glowing necklaces you will have a more immersive experience. Hardly! Sure the actors are allowed to touch you and you get separated from you group, but it amounts to little. If you are lucky enough to be taken from your group they may just make you redo a certain part of the attraction. I went with a group of eight people. Some of them had good taken experiences and others not.
The prison atmosphere was excellent. The experience was disappointing. They need to add More actors especially jumping out from the cells. I felt like the actors were holding back. More actors with chain saws running after quests and darkness needed to make this a more haunted and frightening experience. It felt more like a basement tour than a haunted experience. Please separate the groups. We were on top of each other.
I LOVED IT!!! It is scary enough to make you scream, give you chills, and give you many doubt's. It'll make you freak at least once or twice. If you are brave enough to wear the glow necklace defiantly do it. Even if you feel like there is a small possibility, just try to wear it. You could take it off anywhere anyway if you don't like that part of the evil walk through. I love the interaction with the horror. Being shoved into holes in the walls and down slides. Having ghouls right up in your face. Grabbing your limbs as you walk past. I enjoyed every moment and even wished it was longer afterwards. We did get a bite to eat in "The Yard" where you can pick up your pictures, go to the gift shop, and even get entertained by dancing zombies. It was awesome and amazing! Love, Love, Love It!!!
Going from wing to wing you have to wait on another line. This is not bad but they did it poorly. There was plenty of room to have an attraction, or something else to slow people down more. I kinda felt like cattle. We were just being pushed through corridors with some decorations.
I was so excited to do this, but was ultimately disappointed. I have been to many haunted attractions, this was one of the worst. There were way too many people, not enough proper spacing between groups, and I did not feel scared at all.
My group agreed that this place had potential and did not use it. They over booked their sessions. It took away from a lot of scare factors they could have had. The place uses a real penitentiary, they did not monopolize on this.
I actually love this place... I’ve been coming here for several years and it’s just such great quality and value for the price. Actors are great, staff is always nice. The only negative thing is definitely the amount of people. I did feel too close to people quite often, which sucks because then you know what’s coming up since the guy in front of you is so close. It definitely wasn’t like this a few years ago so its gotten progressively more crowded, but they haven’t done anything about it yet. Also - they change things every year which is great too!
Drove 3.5 hrs to get to the prison , I was a little worried after reading some of the latest reviews but wow what a show starting from instant shuttle rides from the parking area to everything we experienced. Definitely prison themed, lots of special effects. And nice people including the scary actors. The lines were long but moved quickly, I didn’t see any large groups mostly 6-8 in each, lots of surprise scares and even more visuals.
