Had patience and good listening capabilities

"W I K I P E D I A" has an article about Philadelphia police misconduct that is longer than Chris Christie's menu. More than 300 Philly cops have been fired, prosecuted, and/or successfully sued for misconduct just in the prior five years. That is about 10% of all officers who have meaningful contact with the public (the rest are but pencil pushers). Of course, those 300-plus are merely the few who were nailed. Most bad Philly cops are immune from any discipline at all, as per prosecutor Ellen Green-Ceissler's study.

So slow getting wherever when they are called.

James Russell, I RESENT you calling me - and other bona fide critics of corrupt cops - criminals merely because we criticize crooked cops. I wouldn't be surprised if you're a crooked cop yourself. The other professions that you mentioned are not compensated for upholding the law, so comparing them to cops is impertinent. Just because some police officers actually do their jobs sometimes (imagine that!) does not excuse police misconduct of any kind. If you don't like the minimal danger and stress involved, don't become a cop. Have a nice day, officer.

In early 2015, Officers Kevin Robinson and Sean McNight were finally terminated after years of beating and framing innocent people, but only because they were caught on video. There are thousands of other cops who are equally felonious (or worse) according to the Philadelphia Daily News and Wikipedia, but they are still cops because they were not videotaped committing crimes. Even if they were, Philly cops "routinely" steal the videos and retaliate against the videographers by assaulting and falsely arresting them, according to six lawsuits filed by the ACLU within the past two years.
