He was as rude as you can even imagine and was assuming that everyone should know how the things work. His attitude was really something.
Despite being a central and important station, it wasn't terribly clean nor welcoming. The corridors are confusing and lacks waysigns for service counters, amenities, etc. (I was looking for Septa service counter and Post Office and had to wander around aimlessly until I found it). However, the rail service itself moves quickly even when crowded.
Yes it's a subway station, a major interchange station for that matter in a major city that has been under construction for what seems like forever. Homeless people and drunks and just about everyone else uses it as toilet so you will smell urine. The worst is during the school year, when it lets out. Future felons acting out all along all septa routes. Avoid travel during this time if you can.
Oh and the station itself is horrible.
There s no electronic monitors to tell when the trains are arriving, the platform is hot as hell, some homeless dudes were smoking on the platform, and there s trash everywhere.
The 13 trolley is not running here until the 17th of July you have to get it at 40 to Street
So the subway system in Philly has confused me since I was at the airport, I was just asking the staff how do I get to one spot from this station and how much the ticket costs.
The staff was absolutely unfriendly to foreigners.
Smelled of urine and homeless people were everywhere. SEPTA, get on the ball and send them to a homeless shelter.
