Eclectic twist on southern cuisine. Great service, very attentive. I've been here several times and you can't go wrong. You'll pay $20-$30 per entree, but it's worth the price. There's tables for an additional fee in the live jazz room, which they have every night. On Mondays they do a special prix fixe menu and Wednesday they have $1 oysters.

My food was blah, the duck. Parking was tough. There are like 3 wines you can get a glass of and the rest must be a bottle, that sucked. I wemt for the music, which wasn't impressive. You are asked not to speak during the performance unlike other live music places I've been. I spoke but it felt like I had to whisper with my friends. The cornbread was great though.

I went to South for restaurant week. I made the reservation a MONTH in advance. The day of my reservation comes, it was a rainy day, I go to South and is greeted by the hostess who claimed that I made the reservation for the patio, when I informed her that I know for sure I didn't because I do not like eating outside. Then she changed the story to they only seat restaurant week customers on the patio. She then goes on to tell me that because there were currently two events happening that I don't have a table available until well after my desired time to eat. My issue with South is that if you can only seat restaurant week patrons on the patio and it has been raining all day no one thought to give me the decency to tell me that prior to my reserved time for dinning. And that the hostess blatantly lied about seating.

The restaurant is filled with good vibe, aesthetic interior, and live jazz. A fancy adaptation of southern restaurant has gotten me completely enthralled with cucumber & jalapeno cocktail and fried chicken. As a hot sauce enthusiast, I wish it was more spicy, but the sweet nod have me appreciate the sauce more. I will gladly come back for the luxurious yet casual vibe for food, cocktails and music.

Great ambiance and great food. The decor is southern with a modern twist which brings a chic type of vibe. I didn’t get a chance to go to the jazz parlor due to it being a scheduled event there. However the overall experience was great, I only gave 4 instead of 5 because the seating is a little close together, other than that I’d highly recommend.
