Great menu. Friendly staff. Would give 4.5 stars if I could. Mussels are a must. Their Seiten chicken wings are awesome. So are the donuts. Did not like the cauliflower flat bred crust. My homemade one is better.
Strongly recommend! !
In town for business: I like to try new restaurants, but this was a huge disappointment. For starters the service was sub par. I’ve seen friendlier people at Walmart during Black Friday standing in a TV line! The bartender was apathetic at best. The hostess was friendly but the fact that she said hi to me could be skewing my view of her. The food was underwhelming. It is typical bar food dressed up with fancy descriptions. If the food or the service had lived up to the hype I would give it 3 or more stars but since neither did I feel generous in giving it 2 stars since you couldn’t pay me to go back at this point.
This place maybe good to have variety of beers. Eating there - I wouldn't make it again. Me and my wife ordered burgers for each of us - both of them were... cold. Beef was just cooked and hot, but the bread and mushrooms inside for both of us were just cold. I think whether this is someone's mistake or maybe its Belgian tradition to serve cold meals but it doesn't really work for me. The reason why I put 3 stars and not less, because waitress was really very nice.
In at 2:45. Waitress gave us drinks. She was in and out of dining room about 3 times over a span of 15 minutes. She had 2 other tables. Did not com back to table. One other table had to get up to and find her to get the bill. Waited another 2 minutes and just left. Got tired of waiting. Be prepared. The other waitress was doing fine with her tables.
I used to love their mussels, not anymore. Tonight I ordered mussels as usual, and the last one in my bowl was closed but I decided to open it anyway; look what I find. It's filled with dark slimy stuff! I was instantly turned off by this, but the worst is yet to come. The owner came to tell me, in a very condescending way, that mussels all live in mud, so that's just mud. Well, you know what, I'm a biologist! No living shellfish should be filled with mud, let alone there's no body part to be found inside! I'll report this to whoever is in charge of food safety or restaurant; bet someone will be interested.
