Not as great a selection of hardware and parts as 10th Street Hardware, but the layout isn't so claustrophobic. They offer knife-sharpening services, which are hard to find anymore, and they are more willing to help you figure out home repair issues than 10th Street is.
I go back with them when the had the large store were Blick use to be on South Street.. Family owned and great customer service. You can go in ask for something and they know were to find it in like the big box stores.
Cohen's has been a family run neighborhood institution for decades. I've been a customer there for over thirty years, and they've always been extremely helpful. Aside from the selection you'd expect from a mom & pop hardware store, they also cut glass perfectly, and do excellent and reasonably priced lamp rewiring (and are a great place to get pet friendly snow melt locally when a storm hits). They're extremely customer service oriented, and I can't recommend them enough!

I love having this family-run hardware store in my neighborhood. Don't be deceived by the size. If you need it, they'll have it.
Great store! Good section, good prices and very convenient. The perfect example of a small business, great service and a great atmosphere.
Bottom line, if you KNOW what you need, you've a better shot at getting it at 10th Street. If you're looking for a solution to a problem, go see Cohen & Co.
