Very nice people and the food was good

This place was great! True soul food made by great people. The food was awesome. I got a fried chicken platter and a jerk chicken platter for my husband and they were both finished. The staff was very nice. They let us know the best days to come back which is like Tuesday and Wednesday because they will have everything on the menu, when it's closer to Friday and Saturday they may run out of stuff because they are closed Sunday and Monday. It was definitely worth it.

Let me just say, I received outstanding customer service. The women behind the counter acknowledged my presence in a timely manner, and were very pleasant. When they were putting food on my platter, they were attentive to detail about things such as if I wanted gravy on my rice, and any other requests. Had small size turkey wings platter with rice and cabbage. The portions were generous, had two nice sized wings on my platter. I liked the way the carrots, were julliened in the cabbage. Do wish the cabbage did not have the sweet taste of sugar in it. However, it is also traditional, that some African American people do add sugar to some vegetables, they cook. I forgot to ask if they do. My platter was $12 and some change, for what was on it, the price was very fair. I mean two meaty home style cooked wings on a small platter, and besides the two sides, a dinner roll was included.

I will definitely return.

I had the fried whitening ,Mac and cheese with candied yams it was so delicious. The beautiful sisters we’re friendly and Professional. I will definitely be back and recommend this restaurant !!

My coworker suggested this restaurant for lunch so we decided to give it a try and it's in the neighborhood so why not? So a little about myself, I'm really huge on customer service and quality food. When I first walked into the establishment no one greeted me. I spoke several times before being acknowledged (maybe they didn't hear me because of low playing music. Maybe). I walked to the register and proceeded to ask about my order. Again no one was friendly. I'm not asking for anyone to sing and dance but being friendly is the least you can offer the people who are spending money. The food was average. The mac and cheese had too much black pepper, the fried fish (whiting) was standard (no complaints), and the collards were a tad salty. I personally wouldn't go back to this restaurant because the food nor the service was spectacular. Happy eating!
