No cars were available when we arrived to pick up our reserved car. We had to wait in a line about 25 min as they were rolling cars fresh out of the car wash to the line of people waiting. The first car they offered us was wet inside and it had been smoked in so reeked of cigarette smoke. The car we actually rented was not clean inside. I was very disappointed. I had used National before and it wasn't like this at all. Being an Emerald club member service should have been much better. They should be more prepared for the number of incoming flights and reservations how many cars to have available. It was like they did not plan at all!
Picked up the car late Tuesday evening and returned it around noon on Saturday. Both experiences were very good and quick. The price was competitive and the car met all of our expectations. The employees did a good job, but didn't come across as real friendly. Overall a good experience.
I rent a lot of cars from this location. I am not typically impressed by the friendliness of the customer service in this location. I find that attendants are not always friendly and helpful, the cars selection, even on the executive elite aisle, is typically poor, and the cleanliness of the cars I receive here is below what I would consider a reasonable expectation. I don't complain often, but at times I finally speak up. On my last trip to this location, I rented an F150 truck that had cigarette ash on the dashboard and in the cup holders in between front seats(yes, these vehicles should be non-smoking). Also, there was a sticky residue all over the armrest in the middle of the seats. The car smelled of freshly smoked cigarettes(my favorite smell when I am driving an hour and a half to my destination). In the past when I have mentioned the cigarette smell to management, I was told that there was nothing they could do as it was their word against the renter. Unfortunately, the rule of thumb seems to be that the cars smell like they have been smoked in rather than not especially in Philadelphia. Not sure how it is not obvious when the ash residue is still on the dashboard and center armrest unless the person cleaning the car prior did as poor a job as was done before I got in. Of course after three days of driving with the window down the smell has dissipated slightly. I only partially smelled like a smoker when I arrived at my destination. Unfortunately, I will continue to rent from this location, not by choice, but by being stuck in a work situation which requires the use of National.
Your location at the Philadelphia airport has consistently had the slowest, least user friendly and most obnoxious bus drivers of any locations had have used in the past two years. The cleanliness and reliability of the cars have been very good as always. But the bus service from the terminal to the rental location is very poor. Overall your shuttle service is not as good as your competition.
Recent trip to Philly was great. Caught the shuttle from the airport, I'm an Emerald Club member. Walked up to the row of cars, picked one out & drove it away. Very convenient! Friendly & helpful customer service!
