I have to say, the hospital experience was a lot different compared to the emergency room! The nurses here are all very caring and well mannered. They made my 5 days stay at Jeanes Hospital a lot more enjoyable. They let visitors bring you outside food or food from home or you can order food. My mom brought me food everyday and I would leave some in their fridge and they would heat it up for me whenever I asked. They come in and check on you very often to make sure you’re okay or if you need anything. My nurse Annie made me feel like I was right at home. YET THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAD WITH THE HOSPITAL ONCE AGAIN, was the people here just don’t seem to know how to take blood correctly. I went thru about 3-4 girls who tried to take my blood and just could not and my arm was bruised to the point where all my veins were purple and swollen. Finally after complaining about it many times (because I needed a lot of lab work done during my stay here) they assigned me a Russian lady and she was great!! No pain and she got it the first try everytime. Food here is not great, taste like the frozen dinner boxes at the supermarket and they don’t provide salt lol soooo if you have the option, have someone bring food or order food.
EMERGENCY ROOM EXPERIENCE:
MY HOSPITAL EXPERIENCE
I had a realllllllly bad kidney function ( let’s say my kidney only worked about a 1/4 of what it should ) infection on the tubes connecting my kidney to bladder which gave me constant bad uti’s and causing bad me TERRRRRRIBLE backpains. I checked into the ER about 12pm and got into a room within 15 mins. The nurse came into take my blood and let me tell you that that lady had NO IDEA what she was doing because she had poked both my arms three times and couldn’t get the vein ( and she kept pulling the needle in and out and swirling it inside my arm which caused soooo much pain I started to cry) that’s when she stopped and said I’m sorry and she’ll get another nurse to do it. Second nurse came in, took one look and got it on the first try. So anyway went to get ct scan and got admitted because my creatinine levels were too high. Still had to wait about almost an hour before they got me to a room even free being admitted, I said I was hungry they did give me a nice dry turkey sandwich and some juice. Left me in the hallway for about 20 mins to clear the room for another person and finally someone came to get me to bring me to my hospital room around 5:30
On a brighter note the cafeteria in the hospitals main entrance has some really good food
At first when I read the reviews about this hospital I was pretty scared of coming but since it’s closer to my home and my cousin recommended me to come here saying it’s not bad I decided to give this place a visit.
I already had an IV in so they basically just injected the medicine thru the iv so no second needle for sedation. I was asleep the whole time ( literally blacked out before I even knew it lol first time getting put to sleep for surgery. Which was kinda amusing to me) wokeup and I had a cathetar hanging out attached to a pee bag (I was not told about this being part of the procedure) that cathetar is very painful everytime I make any small movements but it is only kept in for 24 hours and will be removed by tomorrow. But overall the doctors were great! They diagnosed me and did everything they could to give me to the best options to fix the problem. I’m very thankful I found Jeanes Hospital and despite all the bad reviews I think I will keep coming back to this hospital if I ever needed any more hospital visits because my experience here was great! Thank you for the wonderful staff at Jeanes Hospital who helped me on the way to recovery!!
I've been in the ED at Jeanes twice recently. The treatment I got there was far and away superior to that of my local hospital. The first time I was there I was quite ill but there were no beds avail; nevertheless, the staff closed off an area for me to go back to so I could lie down and wait until one became available. When they saw that visitors unrelated to me had started filling up the room, they ushered them out...that meant a lot. Both times I was here I found everyone to be kind and attentive. I wish we got that kind of treatment where I live.
Every nurse that handled me during my stay was wonderful. I appreciate them so much
Stay away... Was better before Temple takeover. This hospital don't deserve any stars. Got PE in my lungs, due to lack of my old family doctor taking me off my warfarin for a year and never checked my blood for my INR. One year later I got PE. My dad and brother are gone thanks to this place. They both died of sepsis. They got it from the hospital. Me and my mother got out. My mother praised it when it was the old place. Not the same Jeanes. Go to Holy Redeemer.
I think to work in the emergency room you have to have nerves of steel and a heart for caring for people and it just seems like the longer these people are in that job the less they actually care maybe that just comes with the territory but these people took these jobs because they cared or at least they made you believe they cared about other people that needs to be shown more often !!!
My urethral stent procedure experience:
I’ve been the Jeans Hospital a number of times for outpatient testing and I’ve had good results just recently had a lumbar puncture that was performed there I found the nurses in the main hospital to be caring as well as the doctors they checked on me multiple times during the two hour rest period.
I’ve had two experiences in the ER both of those visits were Negative I found that the doctors aren’t really that caring they come and talk to you for a few minutes and then you never see them again. The nurse gives you your fluids and medicine and out the door they go not to be seen for some time. The worst part is no one even checks up on the patient you could be dead and they would never even know !!! There’s definitely a difference in the Level of care you get In the main hospital versus the emergency room. I’ve also noticed a feeling of being pushed off in the emergency room If you’re not there for something major like a stroke or a heart attack or broken leg it seems like they make you feel like you’re bothering them because there’s nothing major wrong or at least that’s what they think. For the two times that I’ve been there they were not able to diagnose my problem !!!
